Predictably Irrational is a really interesting book that looks at -- as the name suggests -- how we can be pretty irrational sometimes.
Take a look at some of the summarized points -- anything that you recognize? Anything that strikes a chord with you?
Getting free stuff always has been a huge thing for me and my friends. When we were in highschool we would snatch up anything that was free even if we didnt need it or it was junk including free pens and t shirts to sit through national guard stuff, free ice cream if we donated blood, and free tickets to energy and i cubs games for JDRF walks. The funny thing is that technically none of this was free and most the time we didnt even want it but because it was free we would do this stuff to have fun.
ReplyDeleteThe design for procrastination is effecing me right now. When I lived in GA I was using xbox live on m roomate's xbox. Now that I live here I don't have an Xbox but I still pay the monthly xbox live free just because it is on automatic withdraw and I have just been too lazy top stop it. I might try and do that now actually.
ReplyDeleteI would say I am lured into the procrastination type as well. My roommates and I actually just got on a free trial of netflix through my playstation 3..which allows you to stream movies to your tv. the trial is a month long, but were going to cancel my account before that and use my roommates credit card to get another free trial.
