  1. I believe when it comes to underwear, socks, an t-shorts for example they should always be bought generic. The basic material in the product is COTTON an I believe there is not alot of ways 2 mess up cotton to me.I'm not gonna buy some $20 pair of socks just because it has NIKE on them. Unlike other things we like or want such as headache medicine or food. The more complex something is to be made it gives other competitors a opportunity 2 give a claim on why theres is better an how if you spend cheap thats the type of product your gonna get an most of us want things that work effectively.Theres no speculation with cotton with me.

  2. I would say Acetaminophen. Its like a couple bucks more everywhere you go if you dont buy generic.

  3. I agree with Jaason. If you're going to buy a plain t-shirt for an undershirt, why buy $30 shirts when you're just going to wear them underneath another shirt. And as for jeans with holes in the legs, why buy a pair of jeans with holes in them for $100 when you can just buy jeans that are just as stylish from Wal-Mart or something? The only thing I can understand that you would buy expensive are shoes because you get great quality with the brand name. Buy a pair of shoes from Payless and they last a few weeks. Buy a pair of Nikes that lood the same and are technically the same, they last a year or longer...AT LEAST

  4. Good points. I agree that sometimes with a brand name, the product IS better and will last longer, while with others you're just paying for a brand name. Coke had a brilliant idea with their Coca-Cola t-shirts.. you're PAYING to be a walking advertisement!

  5. I think things that you get limited use out of should be bought generic- q-tips, cigarettes, dish soap, whatever. Also things that people tend to lose or break a lot like sunglasses, earrings or flip flops which are fragile pretty much no matter how much you spend. I think it is worth it to buy more expensive clothes because usually generic items are made with lower quality stuff and even though they can look great the first few times you wear them, after repeated washing the seams loosen and the cloth stretches and then you just have to go buy new ones anyway instead of buying a pair of $100 jeans you can wear once a week for five years- which I think is decent. To further the thought on paying to advertise, I think it's pretty much a waste of money and time to spend like $30 on a tshirt that says Abercrombie or something else, because you just gave them your money to walk around like a billboard.

  6. Usually if I am buying anything generic I buy generic medicne. I find that it does the same as big brand name medicine. When it comes to food and clothes I tend to buy the bigger brand names. I don't know if it's because I think they will last longer or taste better or if I'm just conforming.
