What do you think the purpose of this ad is? Is it effective?

  1. I think the purpose of this ad was to make people understand that he isn't going to listen to everything that is being said about his sudden move to Miami Heat. He's going to be who he wants to be. No matter what team he is on, he is Lebron James.
When we watched this video this morning at first I thought it was kind of a slap to the face of the public. That is just they way I felt. I was surprised by the tone but I don't really much about Lebron or the situation with his team move. Is it effective, yes and no. I think it's putting out his " I'm going to be Lebron" idea out very well but I don't know how many people will respond to the tone.
    If that makes sense.

  2. Lebron the second he decided to "take his talents to South Beach" has been verbally attacked by media and fans for deserting in Cleveland. Lebron has never apologized for this because he seemingly never felt he needed to. This Ad is an indication of how Lebron feels about the situation and Nike's way of getting Lebron to be perceived less as a deserter, but someone looking to achieve greatness. Lebron is a major part of Nike's Ad campaign among the sporting world, and Lebron being looked at as a jerk and in a negative light is bad for business. So it is up to them to create Ads to get him back on publics good side. It's to bad that this Ad to makes me think of him more as an arrogant jerk instead of just a jerk.

  3. The ad's telling you LeBron isn't going to make decisions based on whatever everyone else wants him to do. He can make his own decisions. He's the one with the talent, not them. Just because he grew up in Cleveland, doesn't mean he has to stay in Cleveland. Players move...that's what they do. It's about entertaining, and gettin those rings.

  4. Yes I believe this ad was very effective for LeBron. He finally was able to answer all of his critics an fans that may not have agreed with him about his decision to leave Cleveland and join DuWayne Wade an the Miami Heat. People have been waiting for a response from LeBron and this commercial answer people's questions an takes a few shots at sum basketball legends who said he was gonna be Robin instead of Batman. This ad let people see how difficult it is to think and make decisions when your a popular athlete an liked by so many. When comes down to it he wanted to be on a team with potential to win a title an a place were he would be happy despite how many people he was going to disappoint.

  5. The purose of this ad is to humanize Labron. it makes you sort of put yourself in his shoes and decide if you think all of his decisions in his career have been moral. When I watched it I asked my slef if I would have left to get a championship ring and the answer was yes.

  6. I really like the commercial and how it's just him asking us the people what he should do. There's so many things he could try to do to justify why he left Cleveland but in the end it was his decision and we should respect him for that and his talents on the court and not just the jersey he wears. I think the commercial calls to his true fans and i also agree with robert about how he said it was about him achieveing greatness and wasn't personal.
